Utah Wrestlers Headed
for USA Wrestling Western Regional Championships
One hundred sixty-three
Utah wrestlers are headed to Idaho to compete in the USA
Wrestling Western Regional Championships, June 16–21, 2008, at the
Holt Arena on the Idaho State University Campus. The tournament
is the 11-state championships, and all participants
qualify for the USA Wrestling Kids National Championships,
which will be held in Orem, Uta., over the July 4th
weekend.
This is the first year that the
Western Regional Championships will also include folkstyle
wrestling as one of the styles. Traditionally, the
tournament has been for the international styles only.
This year, in additional to freestyle and Greco-Roman,
athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the style
practiced in high schools and colleges around the United
States.

Utah competitors, ranging in age from 9 to 16, are listed
below, with those competing in all three styles listed
