  1. Rule Changes from USA Wrestling

    1. New FILA Rules Go Into Effect

      1. Three 2-minute rounds (all age divisions) with 30-second rest

      2. Must win two out of three rounds to win the match

      3. A fall ends the bout, regardless of winning rounds

      4. Getting a 5-point throw wins the round

      5. Getting two 3-point scoring actions wins the round

      6. Gaining a 6-point lead constitutes a technical fall in that round.  This does not end the bout, simply ends the round.

      7. In Greco-Roman, there is a mandatory clinch each round, at the midpoint of the round.

        1. The clinch position is a reverse body lock.

        2. Each wrestler will have an opportunity to clinch in each round, unless one is in a position of danger and time runs out in the round

      8. Going out of bounds costs you 1 point

      9. Passivity will no longer be called

      10. If you gain a lead and stall, evading your opponent, particularly if your opponent is in a scoring position, you will be called for Fleeing the Hold, which is a Caution and 2 points

    2. New FILA bracketing will not be adopted by USA Wrestling Utah for the 2006 season.

    3. Standard freestyle/Greco-Roman bracketing will continue in its practice by USA Wrestling Utah in 2006.
