Mountain Top Wrestling Members Net 29 Medals at Box
Elder Wrestling Tournament
(Sandy, Utah) — Mountain Top Wrestling Club (formerly
Jordan Freestyle Wrestling) made the journey to Brigham
City, Utah, to compete in the Box Elder freestyle and
Greco-Roman wrestling tournament at Box Elder High School,
earning 31 medals in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling,
Feb. 25-26, 2005. In freestyle, 30 wrestlers competed,
earning 19 medals. In Greco-Roman, 13 athletes competed,
earning 10 awards.
"This was a great followup to last weekend, said Coach
Bill Kilpack (III). "It was a much larger tournament "
about 30 percent more kids " but the guys held strong,
earning four fewer medals than last week with two fewer
wrestlers from Mountain Top. There were some specific
weights as tough as anything in the country and our team
leaders came out on top in them. It was a great way to
show everybody that the name has changed, but we are the
same quality program that we always have been."

members took seven gold. The team was led by William
Kilpack of Sandy, Midget (ages 9 and 10) 65 lbs., who won

"There was a lot of progress made this last week," said
Coach Bill Kilpack (Jr.). "It was a much larger and more
competitive tournament than last weekend, but we had
wrestlers who didn't medal last week step up for this one.
It's very gratifying as a coach to have the kids learn and
improve each tournament. It just goes to show that the
tournaments are where the real growth occurs, implementing
what they've learned. We're very proud of them."
