Pine View Wrestling Picks
Up Road Win
ENTERPRISE —
Pine View went on the road to open the wrestling season
and came away with a 52-24 win.
The Panthers picked up most of their points in the middle
weights as Alex Gifford, Jeff Ure and Kade Neumann won
with pins while Matt Ryder, Matt Ure and Eric Lafaele won
on points. PV won four matches by forfeit.
The Wolves did well at the lower weights as Shaun Holt,
Steve Pickering and Truce Truman recorded pins.
Enterprise's Cameron Bliss also got a pin in the 215-pound
match.
Pine View coach Vance Casperson said his youthful team is
still working out who will be at what weight.
"It just takes a while," he said. "Once we kind of get
scattered (across the weight classes) we should be fine."
Several of the Enterprise wrestlers played in the 1A
football championship game recently, and Wolves' coach
Mike Randall said those grapplers are still working their
way into wrestling shape.
"For being just five days out of football I felt good
about it," Randall said of his team's peformance, while
also noting that Pine View, "looked good too. They're
really tough in the middle weights."
