UtahWrestling.org: the Independent Voice of Utah Wrestling

Web Site Sanctioned by the Utah Wrestling Coaches Association,
USA Wrestling-Utah, AAU Wrestling Utah and the Utah Junior High Wrestling General Committee

Salt Lake Sites Site of the Day

Utah wrestling has a lot to offer. We have quality athletes who are every bit as qualified and worthy of college scholarships as any other state in the nation. Since the creation of UtahWrestling.org, more Utah high-school athletes have been ranked nationally by Wrestling USA Magazine, and the recognition of younger athletes has increased exponentially. Local and national media use the site as a resource for the things they write, and this tells me that I'm making steps toward achieving my goal to help everyone realize that Utah wrestling is top notch. In addition, I have been able to help facilitate greater communication within the Utah wrestling community posting tournament listings, dual meet and tournament results, calls for teams to compete in invitational high-school tournaments, and more.

The junior-high wrestling community embraced the site last season, with very positive results, and I fully expect that to continue to improve.

However, the challenge continues to be gathering information. It is physically impossible for me to attend every wrestling tournament and every dual meet. But that does not mean that I cannot continue to serve the Utah wrestling community. All I need is one thing: information. Participation from Utah high-school coaches increased dramatically last year, as did parents taking on that responsibility, but it can be even better. Again, I recommend asking a parent or a booster club president or a team manager to take on the responsibility of reporting results to UtahWrestling.org. Participation was vastly improved last year but, with even more hands doing a little bit here and there, we can continue to help make the site an effective tool for recognizing our talented Utah athletes both in Utah and across the nation.

Thank you.
